Borimadang that overlooks the original city center, providing a view of it, is a tourist attraction in Mokpo. The nearby Seosan-dong 8-beonji area is full of old houses that can be experienced through rustic narrow alleys.
If you are a first-time visitor, we recommend that you prepare a good navigation app or a map in advance to avoid getting lost in all of the similar-looking alleys.

    2, Borimadang-ro, 50 beon-gil It's the same place, but has two names.
On days without bookings for accomodation, it is run as a teahouse, Woldang, and on days when someone stays, it becomes a guesthouse, Namseonggak.

This is the private property of CEO Kim Deok-jin, a businessman who was born in Mokpo and who devoted himself to Mokpo, leaving behind many marks.
In accordance with his will, it was donated to Mokpo City and used as a senior citizen center, but as the population of Seosan-dong, including the original city center, decreased, people seeking out the senior citizen center disappeared so it fell into disuse.
Since 2017, President Kim Deok-jin's daughter-in-law, host Park Suhyeon, has been running it as a guesthouse and a teahouse.

The host takes pride in preserving the value of the property as a modern heritage site and maintaining the framework of the traditional house style.
The view of the Mokpo sea and sunset, as well as the breathtaking scenery you will encounter during your stay, will be a valuable gift that supersedes the convenience of state-of-the-art lodging facilities.

A spacious wooden floor, two ondol rooms, a front yard that captures the seasons, and a dog and a cat that occasionally stop by to say hello while wandering around the neighborhood.
You can sit anywhere in the 30 pyeong teahouse. Please enjoy the authentic Mokpo with a delicious cup of tea.
