Estacion 1913 is a guesthouse that opened in May 2020 and boasts clean facilities with a modern interior.
The house looks stylish enough to be mistaken for an art museum with its navy blue exterior that resembles the color of the night sea and its large white windows on both the first and second floors.
Additionally, it is an excellent accommodation as certified by the Korean Tourism Quality Certification Business after a rigorous evaluation and examination from the Korea Tourism Organization.
Estacion 1913 is the Spanish word for train station plus 1913.
It represents Mokpo Station, which was built in 1913.
It is said that it was built with the dream of a traveler in mind who wants to travel by train from Mokpo Station, which is the tip of the Korean Peninsula, to the Iberian Peninsula, which is the tip of Europe, just as it was possible to travel to Europe by train before the national division.
After traveling the world for about a year, the travel-loving host left Seoul with her family in 2019 and settled in the beautiful old town of Mokpo.
Estacion 1913 shows that the host has worked hard to create the best accommodations to satisfy the needs of travelers, perhaps because he has experienced a variety of accommodations from all over the world and directly felt what travelers need.
The host's genuine efforts have reached the hearts of guests, so the satisfaction level of the guests is always very high.
All 3 guest rooms, including Moscow (twin bed), Berlin (ondol room), and Madrid (bunk bed) are named after the cities people want to visit, and have their own bathroom with shower.
Common areas include a kitchen where you can cook safely with a refreshing mint-coloured worktop and microwave, and a comfortable living room with a table for 12 and fluffy goose down cushions.
If you are going to stay as a group, you can book all 3 rooms and have the entire common area for your exclusive use.
Breakfast is self-service and guests can cook according to their taste. Bread, cereal, milk, eggs, butter, jam, coffee, tea, etc., are provided for free.
On the first floor of the building is a fancy restaurant, Iberico, run by the host family. (It is said that special service is provided if the guests of the 2nd floor guesthouse eat on the 1st floor.:-)
If you are traveling to Mokpo, how about staying at the Estacion 1913 guesthouse and dreaming of Mokpo becoming the first departure point for your trip to Iberia?
