The Mokpo Marine Cable Car Experience
Hello, everyone!
We are the official reporters for the Kkumkkuneun Bada hotel, Mokpo village hotel, the 'Kkumbakkol supporters.'
Let us introduce the attractions of Mokpo one by one for you.
Today, we'll introduce the first one, the 'Mokpo Marine Cable Car Experience.'
Shall we depart for the North Port Station together?
It's finally the day we've been waiting for.
Today has come at last!!! A day for us to ride the Mokpo Marine Cable Car!
The Mokpo Marine Cable Car has been selected as one of the 100 best tourist attractions in Korea.
It is one of the must-have tourist experiences.
In Jeollanam-do, where Mokpo is located, there are not only cable cars, but also the Odongdo and Expo Marine Park in Yeosu,
the Suncheon Bay Wetland Park, the Juknokwon Bamboo Garden in Damyang, Ssukseom Island in Goheung, the Daehan Tea Garden on the Boseong Green Tea Plantation, and Banwol and Parkjido in Sinan-gun.
Everyone who is visiting Jeollanam-do and Mokpo, please use this as a reference.
Now, the long-awaited cable car excursion starts at last.
Today's course is a round-trip route from North Port Station to Gohado!
(*Please check the marine cable car's detailed course information at the bottom.)
Due to COVID-19, there are not as many tourists as usual,
and since it is a weekday, it feels even more quiet.
Let's head to the ticket office and take a leisurely look around.
Upon entering the room, there is a large screen.
The Mokpo edition of ‘Feel the Rhythm of Korea,’ produced by the Korea Tourism Organization together with <Lee Nalchi Band × Ambiguous>,
is being played on the screen and bringing excitement!
When did those busy guys visit Mokpo?
Dancing merrily, yahoo! Let's go get a ticket now!
There are two types of cable cars: the normal type and the one with a crystal cabin with a transparent glass floor.
I have a little acrophobia, still I want to enjoy the beautiful Mokpo sea and its scenery a bit more.
I decided to forget my acrophobia and use the crystal cabin.
Now that we've bought a ticket, shall we enter?
Yay! I'm so excited! So excited!
Mokpo Marine Cable Cars are coming in one by one to pick up passengers.
The style is really cool, isn't it?
The red is the normal type, and the white cable car has a crystal cabin with a transparent floor!
I boarded the cable car carefully following the guidance of the friendly staff.
Voila! Now we are starting to move far over the sea.
A cable car that moves slowly but at a good speed for enjoying the beautiful scenery of Mokpo…
It floats in the air as if on a magic carpet.
Background music at a moderate volume not to disturb the conversation of the passengers is played inside the cable car.
Unless the weather is bad enough to prevent operation,
the trip remains in any weather, at any time, one fo the places with the most amazing atmospheres.
And I also feel 1,000,000,000 x jealous of a couple passengers who cannot take off their eyes from each other.
When I look down at the transparent floor, I can see even a small tree clearly.
People with good eyesight can even see fish jumping in the sea!
When I got on board... acrophobia??? Well… What was it?
I found myself enjoying it so much... Oh, let's put the shame aside for a while.
I could see the whole city of Mokpo in the distance.
It's really spectacular.
Oh, that's Mokpo Bridge! Mokpo Bridge, which connects North Port and Gohado, was opened in June of 2012.
You can also see cruise ships passing under it.
After the cable car experience, I want to take a cruise and tour the waters around Mokpo and visit the nearby islands.
This is the view from a different angle.
Shall we wave to the cable car coming from the opposite side?
It looks great during the daytime,
but I think it's really something special to visit at the a when you can see the sunset and the night view.
Just then, a boat passed under the cable car.
Seagulls fly over the sea, enjoying this scenery everyday, right?
Feeling like a bird!
From behind, Mr. Lee who came on board with me, looks as excited as a child.
For whom is he taking so many pictures to show?
He couldn't stay still even for a moment, going back and forth between chairs in the cabin, he is fully absorbed in the sightseeing.
“Hey, friend, is this your first time riding a cable car???”
We are going to get off at Yudalsan Station soon.
We're planing to get off for a while to look around the station and have a cup of coffee at the cafe.
In addition to the course from North Port to Gohado, various one-way and round-trip courses are available.
So, please make good use of the Mokpo Marine Cable Car according to your itinerary and travel purpose.
It's too obvious, but no matter how well I explain it,
it's not as good as trying it out yourself, right?
Mokpo travelers, please try riding the Mokpo Marine Cable Car!
I'm sure that you will create beautiful memories with the Mokpo scenery in the background that will make you smile for a long time.

Exploring the attractions of the Mokpo Marine Cable Car!
First, the longest in Korea at 3.23 km
The Mokpo Marine Cable Car is the longest cable car in Korea, starting from the North Port Station in Mokpo city, bending at the top of Mt. Second, the overwhelmingly tall cable car tower
Tower 5 of the Mokpo Marine Cable Car is a pillar tower from the upper part of Mt. Yudalsan to Gohado, and its height is 155m. The tower has been built with the latest design of the French company, Poma, and used cutting-edge construction methods of New Millennium Construction, and is the second tallest cable car tower in the world from among the cable car main towers, becoming another symbol of the great achievements of Mokpo.
Third, crystal cabins with transparent floors
By using 55 10-seater cabins with wide doors, including the crystal cabin, wheelchairs and strollers can get on and off easily and safely, increasing customer convenience and boarding satisfaction.(*Wheelchairs and strollers can only enter general cabins.)
